Beth Shelton |

Beth Shelton is a well known choreographer
and community artist. She was a founding member of Danceworks
dance company in 1983 and was co-artistic director from
1989-1991. |

Beth's choreography has been seen across
Australia and New Zealand in dance companies, theatre
work and community performance projects. Works include
One Meets Two Parts, Tide, and Common
Touch for Danceworks, and Groundswell
and Time Present for Tasdance. Large scale
community performance projects include Going Dancing
(1986), Wings of Summer (1990 & 1991),
Waderbirds (1993) and Once Upon Your Birthday
(1996). She has often worked with Tracks dance in Darwin,
most recently on The
Land, the Cross and the Lotus (1998). |

Beth’s book Face to Face:
Making Dance and Theatre in Community, co-written
with Judi Fisher, was published by Spinifex Press in
2002. She is currently completing doctoral studies in
counselling psychology at Swinburne University. Beth’s
work combines her interests in psychology, dance and
community. |
