Karajayne began dancing at age two with Kulay Lupa (Filipino cultural group). Has trained with the Palmerston Ballet School under the direction of Jan Hedenig, performing lead roles in several productions. Karajayne has received various scholarships and awards for her dancing, including the Lily Vita Award, and has participated in numerous Master Classes with Colin Peasly and Joanne Michel. Karajayne was enrolled in the Australian Ballet School’s Junior interstate program in 2005. In 2007 she was accepted into the Queensland Dance School of Excellence.

of FAST and
the 2005 Arafura Games
Opening Ceremony, as well as attending the Youth dance Festival
in Horsham, A Bowls
Club Wedding, Mr Big and STRUCK.

Karajayne is a strong member of Darwin’s rich cultural community, performing in Diabolos, Bayanihan, and the Larrakeyah-Filipino production of Keep Him My Heart, Filipino refugee week, NT Expo, and the Olympic Torch relay. She has performed with Filipino cultural ensembles Kulay Lupa and Kilos Kultura. She has been involved in exchanges with Milingimbi Community and with Lafaek East Timorese Association. She assists in preserving her cultural heritage by learning and performing dances from her mother’s native country, the Philippines.
