Paul was born in Darwin of Filipino heritage. He was brought up around dance, dancing with his sister and friends, performing traditional Filipino dancing at various cultural events, and watching his mother and brother dancing.

He began dancing seriously at school in 2005 when Erwin Fenis and Astin Low taught hip-hop, which he took a strong interest in. When Sauna Ricardo began teaching she led him into auditions for the Tracks show MR BIG, for which he was successful. Paul has a strong community spirit and dances at fundraisers, the Barrio Fiesta (Filipino), Harmony Day, and other such events.

Paul has also performed in the Tracks productions Arafura Games opening Ceremony 2007, and STRUCK 2008.
