Lajamanu Residency - Break Dance

    Text

    Lajamanu, Northern Territory

    March, 2006

Nick Power and Erwin Fenis run a week of workshops leading to a performance in this remote Aboriginal Community.

As part of maintaining our relationship with Lajamanu and keeping the energy up for Milpirri 07 project, Nick and Erwin were resident at the Lajamanu Community Education Centre in this off-Milpirri year in order to maintain a connection with the school, to keep the youth interested and skilled through an intensive series of dance workshops, and to create a showing for the end of the week. This allowed for greater contact and support of Caleb Japanangka Patrick.

Additional workshops were held in Darwin for the Warlpiri Mt Theo Program youth participants where Nick and Erwin worked with Caleb in a training session.
