Want to join a group of men over 40 to Dance?

Would you like to be a community dancer in Tracks' new show Man Made? You will learn new skills, create new friendships, get to dance alongside professional dancers and become a better performer by being a part of a Darwin Festival show (August 11 - 20).

We are looking for a cast of up to 25 community members, made up of young (16 and above) male break dancers and contemporary dancers, and older males over 40. The cast will work with choreographers Aaron Lim, Kelly Beneforti and David McMicken and under the direction of the Tracks Artistic Directors David McMicken and Tim Newth.

Males (aged 40 and over)
Choreographed by David McMicken.

It's always a lot of fun to be in the room when David creates new work. As long standing Artistic Co Director of Tracks, David will work with this group of men to create SOMETHING I FORGOT: This work focuses on the ageing male, starting at mid-life, through mature adulthood, and on to late adulthood. From a time of personal contemplation, through to a period of wanting to give back, and onto the rich wisdom that were once memoires of our past have almost completed their responsibility of shaping our future; attempting to avoid past mistakes but if only we could remember them. As questions of ‘forgettory’ arise the experience of memory changes. What is remembered and what is actually performed in the present moment through a thinking body that also forgets?

If you would like to be part of this group firstly click here (before you forget) to register,
then turn up at 7:00 pm Wednesday May 10th, at Tracks Dance Studio, Frog Hollow Centre for the Arts, 56 McMinn St Darwin.
